Anthony Carnevale, Authority on Workforce Training, Joins the National Center on Education and the Economy Anthony Carnevale, one of the nation's leading authorities on education, training and employment, has joined the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) as a senior fellow. Carnevale, who has held senior staff positions in the U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives, the executive branch of the federal government, and with several private-sector organizations, will contribute to NCEE's research and writing on the relationship between education and the workforce. "We are thrilled to welcome a scholar as distinguished as Tony Carnevale to our organization," said Marc S. Tucker, NCEE president.
Carnevale, 57, is a widely published author. His books include America and the New Economy: How New Competitive Standards Are Radically Changing American Workplaces and Human Capital: A High Yield Corporate Investment. In 2000, President Clinton appointed Carnevale to the White House Advisory Committee on Technology and Adult Education and Training. Carnevale served on the panel until 2003. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Manufacturers' Advisory Board on Workforce Development, the Century Foundation Task Force on Low-Income Students and Higher Education, the Harvard Civil Rights Project's Higher Education Advisory Group, and the Expert Advisory Panel of the Education Commission of the States' Initiative Transforming Postsecondary Education for the 21st Century. Before joining NCEE, Carnevale spent seven years at the Educational Testing Service, the Princeton, NJ-based testing organization, where he was Vice-President for Assessment, Equity and Careers. |
